Closing your account with us

Whether you're moving your banking elsewhere or simply tidying up accounts that you no longer use, you can now request to close your account online.

If you're closing an account with us due to being dissatisfied with our service, we'd prefer to know so that we can try to put things right. 

How to close your account online

    Transfer your remaining balance

    If the account is overdrawn or has charges outstanding...
    Please transfer sufficient funds into the account to cover the outstanding balance.

    If the account has a remaining balance...
    We can close your account quicker if you arrange a transfer of the remaining credit balance.

    You can make a payment to any UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man Bank account using our mobile app or online banking service.

    Complete our account closure form

    Formally request the closure of your account by completing our short online account closure form.

    We'll contact you if we need anything else

    In some instances we'll need to confirm your identity before closing your account. We'll contact you, using the number we have on record, if we need any additional information to proceed with closing your account.
