It says 'service temporarily unavailable', what should I do?
We do carry out essential maintenance between 1.55am and 2.30am every day to keep our systems up to date. During these times Online banking will be unavailable.
When is the error happening?
When logging in
- Check the details entered carefully (customer number PIN and Password) and try again
- If you have recently registered for Online banking but not completed the process all the way to viewing your accounts (instant access) then repeating the registration process may work
- You could try using an alternative web browser, if available
- If you are using Firefox, try Firefox Safe mode (Start > Programs/All Programs > Mozilla Firefox > Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode). If this works then the issue is most likely caused by one of your Firefox add-ons (commonly search toolbars)
- If you are using Internet Explorer 7 or 8 you can try no add-ons mode (Start > Programs/All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If this works then the issue is most likely caused by one of your Internet Explorer add-ons (commonly search toolbars)
- If none of the above helps resolve the issue please contact our helpdesk
When setting up new payee
- If you already have a payee set up to the same account number and sortcode please either use the existing payee or delete the existing one and try adding again
- Check the account details entered
- If neither of the above applies please contact the helpdesk
When making a payment to an existing payee
- Check the account details used they may no longer be valid
- Contact the helpdesk
